Junior Video Editor

Bigtank work closely with our clients producing video marketing content that delivers impact and growth for their business.

We are looking to appoint a full-time Junior Editor to support our post-production team. The right candidate is someone who is excited about creating impactive content and the technologies used to convey a message through video and animation.

You will have an eye for continuity, composition, colour and graphics. You will possess the ability to tell a story and have keen auditory skills to ensure the message is delivered on the brand with clarity, and to catch and retain the attention of the right audience.

Experience of video post-production is essential with comprehensive knowledge of video editing software, preferably Avid and the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects and Photoshop.

Training:

This is an entry level role suited possibly to a graduate or Post-Production Assistant looking to build on existing skills and experience and developing a professional portfolio within marketing. Although we expect the right candidate to have the required skills to be operational from the get-go, full support will be given to acclimatise, to learn our workflows and to gain full understanding of our clients’ standards and practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Based in the Ramsbottom office

  • Manage briefs (at the Junior Level) independently as well as support the remainder of the Post-Production Team

  • Online and Offline Editing of client projects

  • Compile Showreel and other Video Marketing Content for Bigtank

  • Avid Edit

  • After Effects Motion Graphics 2D

  • Export and Deliver completed projects

  • Organise and manage file libraries

  • Manage and conform assets

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • A strong knowledge of the video, audio, graphic & post-production processes is essential.

  • Knowledge of Video Codecs and Formats

  • Extensive knowledge of Avid and After Effects

  • Organisational skills and able to work to post-production schedules, managing multiple projects

  • Demonstrable knowledge of application of a variety of graphic styles and influences.

  • Interest in emerging technologies, marketing platforms, broadcast, communication channels and trends

  • High level of creativity and creative outlook

  • Interest in visual, music and graphic styles and trends

  • Demonstrable knowledge of photography – composition, focus, exposure, colour, speed

Person Specification:

  • Communication is key – you must be a good communicator in verbal and written form

  • Excellent interpersonal skills working in the team and with visiting guests

  • Receptive to feedback and open to suggestions and improvements

  • An enthusiastic & personable team player

  • Highly self-motivated, problem solver & willing to go the extra mile.

  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel as production may require

  • Ability to excel within the dynamic demands of a rapidly growing company

Terms Of Employment:

Standard working hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 to 17:30, including a half hour lunch break but as a salaried position we expect employees to work the hours to deliver in the role, managing their own time accordingly. 

You will be entitled to 28 working days as holiday leave per year including bank holidays.

There may be times when production demands require a more flexible schedule and there may be evening, weekend, bank holiday edits and on the odd occasion travel to a venue/location to edit on site.
